# Application Selection

Applicants are currently selected based on the following criteria:

### Outstanding Community Contributions

When members in the Axie community stand out occasionally we will reach out to them and see if they need scholarships. This means contributing to the community on twitter through creating art, having conversations about axie, or streaming content.

### Valued Members of our Discord

When members in the Showdown Scholars discord stand out through meaningful contributions to the community. This means helping enforce the rules and communicating important information to other discord users. This also means just hanging out and contributing to the conversations we are having. Commenting that you are patiently waiting or hoping in our discord is generally considered off topic and doesn't contribute.

### Referrals from Existing Scholars

Our existing scholars are my #1 priority and I want to do everything I can to keep them happy with the program, and I love the chance to help them bring on more of their friends and family to the program.

### Demonstration of Game Knowledge

When someone demonstrates solid gamesense in the Arena Knowledge Application they will be accepted to the program.
